Consultation has concluded

In response to road safety concerns a Road Safety Audit was carried out on Trower Road between Bradshaw Terrace and Delamere Street.

As an outcome of the review, Council is implementing the following changes to improve road safety and pedestrian use for the area:

  • Widening of the median island of Trower Road, between Delamere Street and Henbury Avenue;
  • Construction of a pedestrian crossing point on Trower Road adjacent Dripstone Middle School;
  • Reduction from two to one lane along Trower Road, between Henbury Avenue and Delamere Street;
  • Construction of a concrete traffic island at the intersection of Trower Road and Delamere Street; and
  • Reduction of the lane widths along Henbury Avenue (between Trower Road and Gsell Street) via pavement markings.

Work is scheduled to commence the week of 13 May 2019 and is expected to take three weeks to complete. Machinery will be used that may cause a noise disturbance during the work. Traffic management will be in place throughout the works program.
